The estimation of solar radiation using geostationary satellite images is suitable, given its spatial and temporal resolution, to evaluate the solar resource in areas where there is no historic radiometric dataset.

IRSOLAV's methodology, derived from the Heliosat-3 model, allows estimating both the solar resource of a particular geographic point, as well as the solar resource map of a region.

The analysis of the solar resource is completed by determining the representative solar year and other bankable scenarios from the complete series of data derived from more than 15 years of satellite images.


The electrical power generated over a period of time by a photovoltaic plant can be evaluated thanks to the series of solar radiation, temperature and other meteorological variables corresponding to the same period.

IRSOLAV derives electricity production thanks to its own model capable of adapting to any type of module and structure designed for the photovoltaic plant.

Using the representative solar year as the input for the electrical generation model, the statistical forecast of the annual production of the plant's electrical power would be obtained.
